After recording his 5th disc in the “Beethoven Perspectives” series (this time featuring Beethoven’s Hammerklavier sonata), Andreas Haefliger turns to Mozart in early August, playing K503 at the opening night of the La Jolla Summerfest in California. He stays in the USA to renew his long-term collaboration with the Takács Quartet, playing the Dvorák Piano Quintet with them at the Mostly Mozart Festival in New York.
More chamber music later in the month when he goes back to regular haunt, the Moritzburg Festival (Dresden, Germany) to make music with Artistic Director and cellist Jan Vogler and friends. Repertoire will include the maverick composer Torsten Rasch’s highly expressionistic Dreaming Boys, after the poem of the same title by painter Oskar Kokoschka.
