Richard Goode will return to the Royal Albert Hall for this year’s BBC Proms to play the Bartók Piano Concerto No.3 with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Principal Guest Conductor David Robertson on 22 August. Goode regularly appears at the Proms and last did so in 2006. Previous performances of Bartók Piano Concerto No.3 have been critically acclaimed: “Bartok’s gentle, sometimes Gershwin-y Third Piano Concerto […] was fortunate in the bold, beautiful playing of his soloist, Richard Goode” (Boston Symphony Orchestra/David Zinman - Boston Herald).

Also this month, Goode will be appearing in summer festivals across Europe. On 27 August he will play in the Robeco Summer Concerts series at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. And, whilst in the UK before his appearance at the BBC Proms, Goode will perform at the Snape Proms on 18 August. On 3 September Goode will return to the Piano aux Jacobins Festival to give the opening recital of this year’s festival. His programme for these recitals ranges from Byrd to Chopin, with Bach and Schubert in between. After a similar programme at the Wigmore Hall in London, Erica Jeal of The Guardian concluded: “Listening to Goode is always rewarding” (February 2009).
