Kelley O'Connor sings in the opening concert of the Edinburgh International Festival on 13 August. Performing with the BBC Scottish Symphony orchestra under James Conlon, O’Connor sings John Adam's oratorio El Niño alongside soloists Jessica Rivera and Willard White.

O’Connor has performed the work in previous seasons to great critical acclaim, most notably with David Robertson and the Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra. The American mezzo has quickly emerged as one of the most compelling performers of her generation, possessing a voice of uncommon allure and intuitive dramatic artistry. Recent highlights include her compelling performance of Mahler's Symphony No.8 in the opening concert of the BBC Proms last month with the BBC Symphony orchestra under Jirí Belohlávek.

If you miss El Niño, you can hear it again on BBC Radio 3 at 7pm on Monday 13 September. Click here for further information.
