The English Concert

  • The English Concert is renowned around the world for its interpretations of music from the baroque to early classical periods. Formed by Trevor Pinnock in 1973, the ensemble gave its London debut at the English Bach Festival and went onto record widely with Archiv.

Shakespeare in Love
Asia, December 2016
To celebrate the 400th anniversary of the death of William Shakespeare in 2016, the English Concert toured Asia in a unique take on The Bard’s influence on baroque music.

Vocalists Mary Bevan and Tim Mead sang arias and love duets from baroque operas inspired by Shakespeare’s works.
