Boris Giltburg spent the last week of January recording the Prokofiev War Sonatas at the secluded Wyastone studios with top producer Andrew Keener, for release on the boutique label Orchid Records. Watch this space for news of release details later in the year.

In February Giltburg makes his London Philharmonic debut at the Royal Festival Hall (where he appears annually), playing Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No.2 and a newly discovered arrangement for piano and orchestra of Kreisler’s Liebesleid (via Rachmaninov) – particularly appropriate for his concert on 14 February (with a second London concert on the 17th and performance in Brighton on 18 January).

In February he also returns to the Prague Symphony to play Shostakovich Piano Concerto No.2 and give a recital on 11 February (Prokofiev, Rachmaninov, Liszt and Schumann).
