Jonathan Schiffman debut with Slovenian Philharmonic Orchestra

On 12 January, Jonathan Schiffman presented a concert of contemporary symphonic works in the Marjan Kozina Hall of the Slovenian Philharmonic. The programme featured Philip Glass ‘Company’, Paul Schoenfield ‘Four Parables’ (with pianist Andreas Boyde) and Aaron Copland Symphony No.3. This concert was the first in a cycle of collaborative concerts to take place over the next five years between the Slovenian, Zagreb and Belgrade Philharmonic orchestras, during which time they will present concerts with common programmes, soloists and conductors.
On 26 and 27 January, Schiffman also had great success conducting concerts at Salle Ploirel in Nancy with the Orchestre Symphonique et Lyrique de Nancy. The programme featured Henri Dutilleux Symphony No.2 Le Double, Philip Glass Company (version for string orchestra) and Ravel Daphnis et Chloé Suites No.1 et No.2.
