The beginning of 2012 sees Rory Macdonald make his debut with the Houston Grand Opera (February 3 to 11). Macdonald will give five performances of Britten’s The Rape of Lucretia with a cast that includes Michelle DeYoung as Lucretia and Jacques Imbrailo as Tarquinius.
Rory Macdonald is now in demand at some of the world’s leading opera houses. The 11/12 season began with Macdonald performing the revival of Jonathan Miller’s acclaimed production of Donizetti’s The Elixir of Love at English National Opera, which received universal critical acclaim, and 2012 looks set to be equally successful, with his debut in a new production of Magic Flute at the San Francisco Opera in June and July, as well as at Wexford Festival with Delius’s A Village Romeo and Juliet in the autumn.
