Valentina Naforniţă wins second prize at the Paris International Opera Competition

Valentina Naforniţă won the second prize at the Paris International Opera Competition on 13 January 2012. The young soprano joined a group of carefully chosen singers and sang in front of the public and a prestigious panel at the Salle Gaveau in Paris.
Currently a young artist at the Wiener Staastoper, Naforniţă will graduate into their Ensemble in 2012/13 season with roles including Adina L'elisir d'amore, Marzelline Fidelio, Musetta La boheme, Elvira L’Italiana in Algeri, Clorinda La Cenerentola, Oscar Un ballo in Maschera and Gilda Rigoletto.
Future concert engagements include appearances at Llangollen International Eisteddfod and with the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra at the Concertgebouw, Amsterdam.
