James MacMillan conducts his first concert as Associate Composer of the Orchestre de Chambre de Paris

On 25 January 2012 the Orchestre de Chambre de Paris (formerly L’Ensemble Orchestral de Paris) welcomes James MacMillan to conduct his first concert with the orchestra in the role of Associate Composer.
Joined by Simon Trpceski and Alison Balsom for Shostakovich’s Piano Concerto No.1 for piano, trumpet and strings, the concert at the Théâtre des Champs Elysées also features two works by Stravinsky and Seraph, MacMillan’s concertino for trumpet and strings, which was written for, dedicated to and premiered by Balsom in February 2011.
