Leo Hussain makes Staatsoper Berlin debut in Tosca starring Amanda Echalaz

Leo Hussain makes his debut at the Staatsoper Berlin this month conducting Carl Riha’s production of Tosca, starring Amanda Echalaz. There are for performances, on April 13, 23, 25, and 28.

Gaining international attention as Music Director at the Landestheater Salzburg since 2009 and following his sensational performances at Théâtre de la Monnaie, Oper Frankfurt and English National Opera, Leo Hussain makes a number of major opera debuts this season. He will also conduct Les Pêcheurs de perles (Yoshi Oida production) at Opéra Comique, and La Donna del Lago at Theater an der Wien.

Amanda Echalaz made a very successful debut at Staatsoper Berlin last season as Tosca and subsequently Elisabetta Don Carlo. She will also sing Tosca this summer in Santa Fe (her US debut) and return to the Royal Opera House next season. In future seasons, she will also sing major roles at both the Lyric Opera of Chicago and the Metropolitan Opera, New York.
