Following a highly successful conducting debut with the Budapest Festival Orchestra in April, concerts which resulted in his immediate re-invitation to the orchestra, Leonidas Kavakos will conduct/play with the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin in a single concert in the Philharmonie on May 23. In this programme, Kavakos will first play Bach’s Violin Concerto in D minor and continue with Lutoslawski Musique funèbre and finally Schumann Symphony No.2.
At the beginning of the month, Kavakos will appear as Gustavo Dudamel’s soloist with the Los Angeles Philharmonic in concerts on May 5, 6, 7 and 8 when he performs Dutilleux L’arbre des songes.
