Richard Egarr’s visit to the Dallas Symphony last month elicited the following reaction:

"A joyously busy rendition of the First Brandenburg Concerto opened the concert. Egarr found the wonderful but elusive structural logic contained in the episodic final movement. Still seated at the piano, he produced a delightfully terse reading of the opening movement of the Keyboard Concerto No.3 in D, along with a beautifully delicate version of the Adagio movement of the same work."

After a touch-down in Europe, Egarr whizzes off to the Far East this month, for an eight-concert tour with the Academy of Ancient Music and star soprano Sumi Jo, taking in the National Centre for Performing Arts in Bejing, the Esplanade in Singapore, the National Concert Hall in Taipei, and the Seoul Arts Centre. This follows a hugely successful visit to the Shanghai Concert Hall by the orchestra and Egarr only two months ago (click here for more).
