After her sensational performances as Giulietta I Capuleti e i Montecchi at the Bayerische Staatsoper, Eri Nakamura will make her house and role debut at the Deutsche Oper Berlin on June 1, singing the role of Liù in Puccini’s Turandot.

The production, by Lorenzo Fioroni, will be conducted by Juraj Valcuha, and other members of the cast include Lise Lindstrom in the title role.

Liù is a favourite role of Eri’s, and one which she will repeat in future seasons. Other performances this season and beyond include Sophie Werther for the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, Arbate Mitridate in Munich under Ivor Bolton and Juliette Roméo et Juliette in Santiago.
