GIANLUCA MARCIANO Conductor
Currently conducting Madama Butterfly at Grange Park Opera, young Italian conductor Gianluca Marcianò is Musical Director and Principal Conductor of the Tbilisi State Opera & Ballet Theatre in Georgia; Artistic Director of the Al Bustan Festival in Beirut; and Principal Guest Conductor of the Beijing Drama, Dance & Opera Orchestra. He also has strong ties with the opera houses in Zagreb, Minsk, Sassari and Prague. In the UK he regularly works with Grange Park Opera, Longborough Festival Opera, the Chelsea Opera Group and the English Chamber Orchestra.
JEAN-ROMAIN VESPERINI Stage Director
Young French director Jean-Romain Vesperini has been Director in Residence at the Festival les Nuits d’Été de Corté since 2008, where his productions have included Don Giovanni and Il Barbiere di Siviglia. He recently directed La Traviata for l’Opéra de Limoges (a co-production with l’Opéra de Reims & l’Opéra de Rennes), which was critically acclaimed and starred Intermusica’s Venera Gimadieva as Violetta. He has been Peter Stein's assistant on several important projects at l’Opéra National de Lyon and will work with him at the Salzburg Festival in 2013 on a new production of Don Carlo with Jonas Kauffmann and Antonio Pappano.
Both artists will be managed by Simon Goldstone, with assistance from Olivia Marshall.
