Renaud and Gautier Capuçon made a spectacular debut at the BBC Proms this summer. The brothers featured together in two concerts, firstly performing Beethoven’s Triple Concerto with Martha Argerich the pianist, then with the Brahms Double Concerto. Both concerts were with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France under Myung-Whun Chung, with whom they recorded the Brahms in 2007.

“The communication between the artists is so important in these pieces,” remarked Gautier, while Renaud added that knowing each other so well but at the same time being very different, the brothers have a “link between us which is great for this repertoire.”
