This summer, Martyn Brabbins renews his long-standing relationships with three of the most important UK festivals in programmes celebrating the best of British music.

On the First Night of the BBC Proms (13 July) he conducts the BBC Symphony Orchestra in Tippett’s Birthday Suite, sharing the programme with Sir Mark Elder, Sir Roger Norrington and Edward Gardner. On 27 August, he conducts regular colleagues the Nash Ensemble in Schoenberg’s Pierrot Lunaire, before his third and final Prom (No.61) sees him rejoin the BBC Symphony Orchestra for Howells’ Hymnus Paradisi and Elgar’s Symphony No.1.

He returns to the Three Choirs Festival, this year conducting Dyson The Canterbury Pilgrims with the Philharmonia Orchestra in Hereford Cathedral on 25 July.

Brabbins also conducts a marathon London-themed programme at the Cheltenham Festival with the Bournemouth Symphony on 15 July, culminating in Vaughan Williams’s London Symphony.
