Leonidas Kavakos returns to the Verbier Festival, where he is a favourite of the audiences and appears every year, for four concerts. Kavakos is the soloist for the festival’s finale concert on August 5, playing the Korngold Violin Concerto with the Verbier Festival Orchestra under Manfred Honeck.

Kavakos plays a recital with pianist Nikolai Lugansky on August 3 – a programme of Janáček, Brahms, Stravinsky and Respighi. Kavakos and Lugansky perform further recitals in the coming months: at the Edinburgh International Festival (August 17), at the Palais des Beaux Arts in Brussels (November 29) and at the Barbican Centre in London (November 30) as part of his UBS Soundscapes LSO Artist Portrait.

The chamber music concerts are one of the musical highlights of the Verbier Festival. Kavakos performs Tchaikovsky’s Piano Trio with Yuja Wang and Gautier Capuçon on July 28, and Elgar’s Piano Quintet on July 30, together with Nikolai Lugansky, Pamela Frank, Torleif Thedéen and Antoine Tamestit.
