Both Daniil Trifonov and Francesco Piemontesi make their debuts at the Edinburgh International Festival this summer. These pianists, two of the brightest young talents in the musical world today, will perform solo recitals at Edinburgh’s Queen’s Hall.
Trifonov will perform a varied and colourful programme of Scriabin, Medtner, Stravinsky, Debussy and Chopin on 24 August.
Piemontesi’s programme explores Viennese music of the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries, and includes Mozart Piano Sonata K.284, Schumann Carnival Scenes from Vienna, Webern Variations for piano and Schubert’s Piano Sonata in A minor D.845. The performance takes place on 28 August.
Both recitals will be broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and will be available to listen to on BBC iPlayer.
