The São Paulo Symphony Orchestra, under Chief Conductor Marin Alsop, became the first Brazilian orchestra to ever perform at the BBC Proms this week. Alsop conducted a programme from North and South America, featuring music by Dvořák, Copland, Villa-Lobos, and Ginastera.
