Andrew Manze conducts BBC Scottish at the Proms and makes Mostly Mozart debut

On Thursday 16 August, Andrew Manze will conduct the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra at the BBC Proms as part of his cycle of Vaughan Williams Symphonies. Manze will conduct Symphonies Nos.4, 5 and 6, all of which were composed during the 1930s and 1940s. The performance will be broadcast live on both BBC Radio 3 and BBC Four.
The following week, Manze will travel to New York to make his debut at the Mostly Mozart Festival. Manze will give two performances with the Festival Orchestra at the Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center on 21 and 22 August, and will be joined by pianist Stephen Hough for Mendelssohn Piano Concerto No.1. The programme will also include Bach Suite in D major and Mozart Symphony No.41, ‘Jupiter’.
