Sarah Tynan will sing the role of Carrie Pipperidge in Opera North’s brand new five-star production of Carousel at the Barbican in August. Directed by Jo Davies, the production received critical acclaim when it first opened in Leeds this spring. Carousel opens on 15 August and will run until 15 September 2012.

Tynan will be singing extracts from the show on BBC Radio 3's In Tune programme today. Click here to listen at 4.30pm.

Next season Sarah Tynan will return to English National Opera for the revival of Don Giovanni, and will also make her debut at Teatro Real, Madrid, for the world premiere of Philip Glass’s new opera The Perfect American.
