Ehnes, Currie and Janowski nominated for 2012 Gramophone Awards

Intermusica artists James Ehnes, Colin Currie and Marek Janowski have all been nominated in the 2012 Gramophone Classical Music Awards.

In the Concerto category, James Ehnes (pictured) has been nominated for his recording of Bartók's two violin concertos and viola concerto with BBC Philharmonic and Gianandrea Noseda.

Colin Currie has been nominated in the Contemporary category for his recording of Rautavaara's Percussion Concerto Incantations, composed especially for him and recorded with Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra and John Storgårds.

In the Opera category, Marek Janowski has been recognised for his recording of Wagner Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg with Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra and soloists including Albert Dohmen, Robert Dean Smith and Dietrich Henschel.

The winners will be announced on 27 September at the Gramophone Classical Music Awards ceremony and online at www.gramophone.co.uk.
