On 14 October, Denis Kozhukhin will make his debut with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra. The young Russian pianist will perform Prokofiev Piano Concerto No.2 at the Musikverein under the baton of Marin Alsop.
“This was remarkable; a performance of such rare quality it is difficult to light on vocabulary that might define the experience," commented the Herald (Scotland) after Kozhukhin performed the work with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra last year, as part of his concerti cycle with the orchestra.
Also in October, Kozhukhin returns to the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, with whom he will give two performances of Rachmaninov Piano Concerto No.4 with chief conductor Kirill Karabits. Kozhukhin’s performances take place at the Lighthouse in Poole on 10 October (the concert will be broadcast live on BBC Radio 3) and the Anvil in Basingstoke on 11 October.
