Jonathan Schiffman to conduct the BBC Philharmonic in an October of debuts

Following a successful debut conducting the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra in March 2011, Jonathan Schiffman accepts an invitation to conduct the BBC Philharmonic this month. On 20th Oct at Huddersfield Town Hall, Schiffman will present a concert entitled “The Dramatic Symphony” with a programme to feature Mozart Symphony No.25 and Sibelius Violin Concerto, with soloist Alexandra Soumm. The concert closes with the last of Brahms’ symphonies, Symphony No. 4 in E minor.

Further debuts for Schiffman this month include two concerts with the Orchestre de Bretagne in Rennes on 11th and 12th Oct, performing Arandel and Riley, and two concerts with the St. Gallen Symphony Orchestra on 27th and 28th Oct, performing Smetana, Delius and Glazunov.
