Earlier this month, pianist Daniil Trifonov returned to the stage with Valery Gergiev and the Orchestra of the Mariinsky Theatre for concerts in Washington DC and Carnegie Hall, New York. Both concerts received great ovations from the public, while the Washington Post commented that “he played with such intensity that it seemed as if this moment was the greatest or most powerful thing that one could possibly experience” (Anne Midgette, October 2011).

On October 28, Trifonov will join Gergiev and the Orchestra of the Mariinsky Theatre once more in a debut at Baden-Baden Festspielhaus, performing Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto No.1 alongside Symphonies Nos.1 and 6.
