Continuing his long-standing relationship with the Basel Chamber Orchestra, Paul McCreesh joins the orchestra on tour with Angelika Kirchschalger In November.
The run includes visits to Switzerland and France, including Paris on November 26. Ever eager to explore fresh and novel programming ideas, McCreesh intersperses movements of Schubert’s Rosamunde with a selection of Schubert songs arranged by Webern, Reger and Brahms, which is then followed by Brahms’s second symphony in the second half.
Of his performances earlier this year with the Basel Chamber Orchestra and Sol Gabetta, McCreesh was described as being “like a magician, bringing his precise mental image of the piece, with all its richness of tone colours, to life.”
