Leonidas Kavakos plays the first of the recitals in his 2012/13 cycle of the complete Beethoven sonatas at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam on November 5 with his regular recital partner, Enrico Pace. This recital anticipates the imminent release of Kavakos’s recording of the Beethoven Violin Sonatas on Decca Classics in January 2013. Kavakos and Pace return to the Concertgebouw in February and March to continue the cycle.
Leonidas Kavakos is the soloist on Valery Gergiev’s tour to Japan with the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra, playing the Sibelius Violin Concerto. The two concerts are in Nagoya (November 13) and at the NHK Hall in Tokyo (November 15), as part of the NHK Music Festival.
Whilst in Tokyo, Kavakos also plays an all-Beethoven recital with Enrico Pace at Toppan Hall on November 14 to launch his debut Decca recording in Japan.
