Andrew Manze returns to conduct the City of Birmingham and Finnish Radio symphony orchestras

Andrew Manze will return on 7 November to conduct the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra at the Symphony Hall, Birmingham. The programme will open with Mozart’s Symphony No.25 in G minor, followed by Vaughan Williams’s Oboe concerto with soloist Rainer Gibbons. The concert will close with Schumann’s Symphony No.2.
In the following week, Manze will travel to Helsinki where he will return to the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra for a performance on 16 November at the Helsinki Music Centre. The concert will begin with Lutoslawski’s Musique Funèbre, followed by Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No.4 with soloist Sunwook Kim. The second half of the concert will feature Bartók’s Music for Strings, Percussion and Celesta.
