Conductor and keyboardist Richard Egarr was announced today as an Associate Artist of the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, with immediate effect. This new appointment (shared with the SCO’s regular guest violinist/director Alexander Janiczek) will create opportunities to further deepen his long-standing relationship with the SCO across a wide range of repertoire. It will complement his ongoing activities with the Academy of Ancient Music, where he is Music Director.
This week Egarr conducts and plays the harpsichord in two performances with the SCO of Bach’s Christmas Oratorio on 1 December at Edinburgh Queen’s Hall and on 2 December at Glasgow City Halls. He returns in April for Telemann, Bach and Vivaldi.
Further details can be found on the Scottish Chamber Orchestra's website here.
