Following his successful debut with the Orchestre National d'Île de France last season, Jonathan Schiffman returns to conduct the orchestra on 6th and 7th April at Théâtre de Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines. A choir of nearly 200 primary and secondary school children from the Yvelines region will join the orchestra to perform 'The Spirit of Red Maple and other fables', a set of colourful fantasy tales set to music by Karol Beffa.

Following his success with the Orchestre de Bretagne in October 2011, Jonathan Schiffman returns to conduct the orchestra this month. On November 4 Jonathan Schiffman will conduct the Brussels Philharmonic Orchestra for the first time. At the Concertgebouw Bruges, Schiffman will present a programme featuring Debussy Nocturnes, Scriabin Symphony No.5 and Saariaho D’om le vrai sens for clarinet and orchestra. At the end of May, Jonathan Schiffman will make his debut with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra with concerts on May 26, 27 and 28 at Kirkcudbright, Langholm and Selkirk respectively. The programme will open with Haydn’s Symphony No.70 followed by Weber’s Clarinet Concerto with soloist Maximiliano Martin. Beethoven Symphony No.3, ‘Eroica’, will close the concerts.

Jonathan Schiffman makes his debut with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra this month, conducting Brahms Piano Concerto no. 2 with soloist Martin Roscoe for a 'Discovering Music' concert at Glasgow City Halls on 28 March. Earlier in the month, Schiffman makes another debut with the Orchestre National d’Ile de France. The concert at Théâtre Alexandre Dumas will include works by Debussy, Duruflé, Ravel and Alain.
