On 28 April 2012, James MacMillan conducted the Dutch Premiere of his Violin Concerto with Vadim Repin and the Netherlands Radio Kamer Filharmonie as part of the Concertgebouw Amsterdam’s prestigious Zaterdag Matinee series. The Violin Concerto was written for Repin in 2009 and co-commissioned by Zaterdag Matinee, the London Symphony and Philadelphia Orchestras and the Ensemble Orchestral de Paris.
