The new recording of the Schumann and Dvořák Piano Concerti by Francesco Piemontesi, Jiří Bělohlávek and the BBC Symphony Orchestra is out now on Naïve Classique.Click here to watch a video about the recording, featuring interviews with Piemontesi and Bělohlávek. In other news, Francesco Piemontesi will be appearing in a solo recital in Paris on 15 May at the Salle Gaveau. The programme includes works by Mozart, Debussy, Chopin and Schubert.

Percussionist Colin Currie and pianist Francesco Piemontesi have been nominated in the Instrumentalist category, and pianist Daniil Trifonov has been shortlisted in the Young Artists category, for the 2013 Royal Philharmonic Society Music Awards. Francesco Piemontesi travels to Tokyo this month to perform both as a concerto soloist and in recital.On 8 April, Piemontesi performs Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No.4 with the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony and conductor James Judd at the Bunka Kaikan Concert Hall. Two days later he gives a solo recital of music by Mozart, Schumann and Schubert at Toppan Hall.Click here for further information.

Francesco Piemontesi performs several European dates alongside Jörg Widmann and Antoine Tamestit. Highlights of the tour include Auditorium Parco della Musica in Rome, Liceo de Cámara in Madrid, the Konzerthaus in Dortmund and London’s Wigmore Hall. The programme is made up of Bruch, Kurtág, Schumann and Mozart.

Francesco Piemontesi is in London this week to record Dvorak’s Piano Concerto for a CD due to be released in 2013 with Naïve Classique.
