Sarah Tynan makes her role debut as Adina in The Elixir of Love at English National Opera, the Coliseum, on 12 February. Jonathan Miller's new production of Donizetti's popular work also stars American tenor John Tessier as Tynan's beloved Nemorino. A recent winner at the South Bank Awards (click here to read more), David Alden returns to the English National Opera at the Coliseum to revive his spectacularly successful production of Donizetti's Lucia di Lammermoor on 4 February. Anna Christy and Barry Banks reprise their roles of the lovers, and Australian Anthony Walker makes his house debut on the podium. The production runs until 26 February.

English National Opera has been awarded the last ever South Bank Show Award in the Opera category for its 2009 sell-out production of Peter Grimes, directed by David Alden and conducted by Music Director Edward Gardner. Soprano Ailish Tynan received great critical praise after stepping in at very short notice to sing Handel's Messiah with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra conducted by Roy Goodman.
