Following her acclaimed portrayals of Storge for Welsh National Opera and Madame Larina for Royal Opera House, Diana Montague will sing Miss Prism in the staged world premiere of Gerald Barry’s new opera, The Importance of Being Earnest at Opéra National de Lorraine.
The production opens on 17 March 17 with further performances on 19, 20, 21 and 22 March.
The opera will be broadcast on France Musique on 20 April at 7pm.

Diana Montague will sing in performances of an opera by Antonio Vivaldi, La verita in cimento (‘The Truth put to the Test’), which will receive its UK premiere at Garsington Opera, opening on June 20. Diana Montague sings the role of the Nurse, Gertrude, in Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, in Nicolas Joël’s classic production. The opening night was October 26th and runs through November. Daniel Oren conducts a strong cast which includes Piotr Beczala and Nino Machaidze as the star-crossed lovers.

Diana Montague performs Beethoven Symphony No.9 with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment at the Royal Festival Hall on 9 April. She then then tours with the Orchestra to Spain, with concerts in Madrid and Valladolid.
