Working with a variety of film companies, animators and production companies, Intermusica represents a varied portfolio of films for live performance that includes award-winning Hollywood blockbusters for symphony orchestra and chorus, through to family-orientated animations with live piano. Intermusica’s specialised staff have a detailed understanding of the technical and logistical aspects of this genre and can also provide guidance around marketing.

In April 2018, Amadeus Live received sixteen performances across three continents, by orchestras including San Francisco Symphony, New York Philharmonic, Iceland Symphony, Luxembourg Philharmonic and Taipei Symphony. • Recording: Colin Currie Group

Intermusica works with artists to help them realise their ambitions to record and release world-class recordings.

As well as supporting artists on their recording and release plans with major labels, Intermusica has worked with artists on bespoke recording and release plans and creation of their own record labels.

In 2017, Intermusica supported Colin Currie Group to record and release Steve Reich’s iconic work, Drumming. Intermusica project-managed the entire process, including a successful crowdfunding campaign, backed up with extensive social media support and recording sessions. Intermusica investigated options for releasing the recording, including on established labels, before assisting Colin Currie with the creation of a brand new recording label: Colin Currie Records. Distributed by LSO Live and its partners worldwide, Colin Currie Records is a platform for Colin’s diverse projects, celebrating the extraordinary developments for percussion music over the past century. Intermusica coordinated the PR and marketing aspects of the release of Drumming and provides ongoing project-management and support to Colin Currie Records.

Intermusica supports composers, artists and film-makers to bring new commissions to life.

These include major multi-disciplinary works and complex projects by composer Michel van der Aa. Along with van der Aa’s publisher, Boosey & Hawkes, Intermusica secured co-commissioners for the pioneering 3D chamber opera for solo soprano and film, Blank Out (2016) as well as performances including at the 2017 Lucerne Summer Festival (where Michel was composer in residence) and the Asian premiere at Beijing Music Festival. Intermusica is currently seeking co-commissioners and presenters for two new works by the Grawemeyer award-winning composer: Eight, a mixed reality song cycle and Upload, a major new film opera.
