Intermusica welcomes Ingela Brimberg for worldwide representation
We are delighted to announce worldwide management of the celebrated Swedish soprano Ingela Brimberg.
Brimberg is renowned for her engaging portrayal of opera’s dramatic heroines. Having performed her first Brünnhilde at Theater an der Wien’s Ring Cycle in the 2017/18 season, she has also impressed as Senta Der fliegende Holländer, which she performed at Oper Köln, Staatsoper Hamburg, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Teatro Real Madrid and at Theater an der Wien (with Marc Minkowski); and as Elsa Lohengrin at La Monnaie.
In addition to her Wagnerian roles, Brimberg is in demand for her portrayal of Strauss’ leading ladies: Salome, which she has performed at Göteborg Opera and Teatro Verdi in Trieste and, most recently, in a new Ted Huffman production for Oper Köln to start the 2018/19 season; and title role Elektra, which she performed to critical acclaim last season for Opéra National de Bordeaux.
Other successes include the title role Tosca for Oper Köln, Göteborg Opera and Finnish National Opera; title role Aida for Malmö Opera; Elettra Idomeneo for Opéra de Lyon and Göteborg Opera; title role Manon Lescaut for Danish National Opera; Chrysothemis in a concert version of Elektra at the Verbier Festival, and Sieglinde in concerts of Die Walküre with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra and Daniel Harding.
Later this season, Brimberg will return to Opéra National de Bordeaux as Brünnhilde Die Walküre, and further ahead she performs Senta Der fliegende Holländer, Leonore Fidelio, Elektra, Brunnhilde, and her first Isolde Tristan und Isolde, in major venues including Deutsche Oper Berlin, Grand Theatre de Genève, Oper Köln and Teatro Real Madrid.
