Martin Scorcese’s decadent feast for the eyes, based on Edith Wharton’s classic tale of doomed lovers, returns to the big screen with a full symphony orchestra performing Elmer Bernstein’s Oscar®-nominated soundtrack.
The Age of Innocence features an all-star cast including Michelle Pfeiffer, Winona Ryder and three-time Academy Award® winner Daniel Day-Lewis in this story of fated love set in 19th Century New York high society. Wealthy lawyer Newland Archer (Day-Lewis) is engaged to sweet socialite May Welland (Winona Ryder). But what seems like the perfect coupling is thrown into question when May’s cousin, Countess Ellen Olenska (Michelle Pfeiffer), who is estranged from her husband, arrives in town.
